The Despec Nordic history

Despec was established in Denmark in September 1992 with only two employees under the name “Despec Supplies”.  Despec – DEaler SPECialist – was the first true wholesale-only company in the Nordic region to distribute computer and printer supplies (ink, toner and ribbons).  Back then, all products were sourced from the mother company in Holland.  The big sellers were floppy disks and printer ribbons.

During the following years, Despec expanded its activities by entering new markets and broadening the product range.  A sister company was established in Norway in 1994.  Two years later, Denmark and Norway were followed by the Swedish company RCS Agenturer that changed its name into Despec Supplies AB and became a part of the Despec family.  Furthermore, the assortment grew to include technical IT supplies.

In 2004, the Dutch Despec group acquired the remaining shares in Despec Sweden, and Despec in the Nordic region was for the first time under the same ownership and management.  Despec Nordic Holding A/S was born. Today, more than 20 years later, the Despec business model is still very strict; we focus on wholesale towards re-sellers in the Nordic region – only.

Despec is represented by more than 150 employees in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland - offering a broad and deep product range together with various services, which are all aimed at bringing the customers and vendors a complete distribution solution in order for them to achieve their full potential in the respective markets.
